Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Promise" by Jean Hackensmith.

'There is nothing I didn’t like about the book. I was surprised by the extent of Jacob's willingness to sacrifice, which I found incredible. There were times when I disliked the relentless dusters they faced. I felt sympathy for the family due to the hardships they endured in that drought-stricken land. Yet, despite this, a part of me didn't want them to leave the Oklahoma Panhandle. The place felt like home to me as well.

I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because the story was incredibly relatable. It felt like I could envision a world where the events of the story actually happened. I found myself not wanting the story to end. From the strategies Jacob employed to safeguard the crops to the deep bond forged among the characters as they persevered together, it deeply resonated with me. I recommend the book to readers who enjoy heartwarming stories about friendship, fans of romance, historical fiction, family dramas, and tales set in rural or agricultural settings.

"...this novel is one of those that you will have to read all night to finish. The dangers and reality of the Civil War are brought alive with the novel's imagery and events. You, too, will travel through time as you read CHARMED PASSAGE!" --Shari Brennan, Semi-Gen.com

"...On a scale of 1 to 10, this book is a 20! Fascinating, absorbing, romantic, a wonderful read. I can't praise it highly enough." --Irene Marshall, Promo Preview

Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "EXODUS" by Jean Hackensmith.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly, finding nothing to dislike. The book makes the reader ask themselves, "What will you do if you know the world will end in 5 years?" It's a beautiful and interesting read. I must commend the editor for doing a good job because the book is exceptionally edited.

I give the book 5 out of 5 stars for its imaginative and scientific narrative. Even for those who do not understand the basics of astrophysics or space travel, the narrative makes it easy to follow and understand. It makes us question ourselves and wonder if we would have made the same decision if we were in that position. I recommend this book to all lovers of science fiction and, generally, everyone who loves a good story to immerse themselves in a scenario where the Earth is destroyed and we have to live on a different planet.

"Wow. Okay... so just... wow.  This was one of the BEST suspense novels I’ve read in I don’t know how long…If I were a Hollywood executive, I’d option this book for a movie immediately. It’s really that good."

"Gripping and suspenseful, Checkmate by Jean Hackensmith will have you on the edge of your seat and rooting for the good guys…Hackensmith also performed thorough research on the training and usefulness of protection dogs, and made Mika into a wonderful canine character who readers will fall in love with."
